Principal's Corner

A new year, a new system

It’s a wonderful and rare opportunity to get to be a part of the dynamic change process of becoming a unique and separate school system.  The enthusiasm and energy of the students, parents, teachers, staff, and community is palpable.

While building something new together is exciting and energizing, we are also bound to experience growing pains.  Please bear with us as we learn and grow together.  If we don’t always have an immediate answer to your concern, know that we are going to work diligently to find that answer.

Riverchase Middle School has always been a great school—a school that we have always been and will always be proud of.  What we want to do is look at how we can take a great school and make it even better.  I think the key to having a great school is the culture we build for our children.  At RMS, that culture will be based on three essential qualities:

A culture of success—we value a positive and caring school culture that celebrates the individuality of our students, staff, and community.

A culture of collaboration—we value a collaborative environment among students, staff, and community to provide a quality educational experience.

A culture of continuous improvement—we value the intentional process of continuous improvement to meet the diverse needs of our students and staff and to challenge them to reach their full potential.

Please know that I am always here to listen to your concerns, and I value your ideas and input.  I encourage you to become as active a part of your child’s education as you can—join our PTO, volunteer in the office, or just send us words of encouragement.  No contribution is too small.  After all, building a world-class school system isn’t something one or two people do by themselves—it’s something we all do together.

WE ARE PELHAM!  Go Panthers!
